Annette Lidawer
for MAYOR

Annette Lidawer is an attorney, educator, and Highland Park City Councilmember with a long history of community leadership. Before being elected to the City Council in 2021 and again in 2025, she served on the Township High School District 113 Board of Education for two full terms including two years as president. She was appointed to the Plan and Design Commission, bringing a well-rounded resume of experience in education, law, zoning and public service to Highland Park.

As a councilmember, Lidawer has prioritized economic development, public safety and improving city services. She was instrumental in shaping the City's priorities and fought to include economic development as a core focus. Lidawer supported local businesses via creation of incentive programs, work with BEDAG (Business and Economic Development Advisory Group) and the Highland Park Chamber of Commerce. Lidawer encouraged streamlining city processes, updating municipal policies and ordinances, and promoted sustainable growth throughout Highland Park.

Lidawer also advocates for transparent government and greater civic engagement. She recently led the charge to put a referendum on the ballot for term limits and previously initiated the first ordinance in Illinois defining antisemitism and providing legal recourse against such behavior. Her leadership focuses on responsible fiscal management, thoughtful long-term planning, and preserving a high quality of life for Highland Park residents.
